A military cadet training camp at New Brunswick's CFB Gagetown is confirming 15 new cases of swine flu and 53 people are still in isolation, forcing the camp to cut short part of its summer program.

Lt.-Col. Kenneth Fells said 250 cadets are graduating two days early from Camp Argonaut.

He said the training of these cadets was accelerated so they could be sent home early.

Fells said a total of 53 cadets with flu or flu-like symptoms are being kept in isolation at the camp.

Of those still in isolation, he said, 28 are expected to be released within the next few days.

"[The cadets are being sent home early] so that we have enough space and enough room so that our staff can now support those medical people because they're a bit overtaxed right now," Fells said.

So far, all the flu cases have been mild.

About 700 cadets on a six-week course remain at the camp, which is outside Fredericton.

The arrival of another group of cadets on a three-week course has been delayed by a week.

The Department of Health confirmed 20 new cases of swine flu in New Brunswick last week, pushing the total to 61.
