Hit TV series Game of Thrones, based on the novels of George R.R. Martin, has legions of fans who can’t wait to return to the kingdom of Westeros.

While they await the second season to debut April 1, the trappings of the kingdom are on a tour that takes in Toronto and Vancouver.

At TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto, a new exhibit celebrates the craftsmen who create the costumes, weapons and regalia of the swords and sex fantasy. The exhibit opens Saturday and runs to March 18.

In conjunction with the exhibit, TIFF is hosting a Q&A exhibit with Martin on March 12. Martin has written five books in his A Song of Fire and Ice series, and a sixth book, The Winds of Winter, is in the works.

Michelle Fairley, the Irish actress who plays Catelyn Stark, talked about working in this fantasy world in an interview with CBC News.

In Vancouver, the Iron Throne arrives on March 23 at VIFF's Vancity Theatre amid a marathon screening of the first season of Game of Thrones.
