About/Bio: I'm a proud, 43 year old hockey dad. I don't know what I'd do in the winter time if my son didn't play hockey! I suppose in order for anyone to understand what I'm about to write about, you need to see a video called "The Magic Hockey Helmet" that was created and performed by my son, Miller.
Check out the video:
CBC Sports asked Mike to share his hockey dad story, have a look at his blog on our CBC Sports page.

Hello, This young man is amazing and absolutely correct in his interpretation of what happens to our youth when they put on the "Magic Helmet". One of our son's played hockey many years ago and I was disgusted by the adults at the rink. I remember one game in specific when a youngster from the opposing team was hit and fell to the ice.
One of the parents from our team began yelling "Dont't be such a baby, get up, you're faking" and son on, I was very upset that the man would speak like that, shortly they brought out a stretcher and had to take the youth to a local hospital. The young people playing hockey need to learn respect, caring for others and gentlemanly conduct and what better place. Even the national hockey teams are trying to cut out some of the rough stuff. It's time to play hockey with skill, not fight because you're not a good player.
