Ann Kornuta is a 28-year-old artist from Milton Ontario, one of Canada's fastest growing communities.

Ann Kornuta
Here she talks about life in her rapidly growing community.
When the growth comes does the magic and mystery vanish? The population of my hometown of Milton was unchanged for the first 20 years of my life. Now it's the fastest growing community in Canada. What happens to a community with this sort of culture shock and what happens to the people and places that dwell inside?
In November, Sarah Joncas, a friend and fellow artist, stopped by Milton. We went for a walk to Rotary Park, which is right in the heart of the old downtown core, famous for its Victorian era houses. The park is also the home of the Mill Pond iconic to the community, as it once held its milling factory and is considered to some as the original heart of the town.

A million years ago, i built my first home just north of Milton near Speyside south of Acton when there were only farmers, hippies, unusual people who wanted to escape the city.
I'd pass by Milton daily on my way to work. Back then it was like a country village; now it's almost a suburb of the GTA and what was remote and special about the area is almost all gone.
