A series of attacks rocked India's financial capital and have left more than 100 people dead.
Canadian photographer Daniel Gautreau is currently in Mumbai and sent his photos to CBC News.
Read on for his story.
My name is Daniel Gautreau and I am currently in Mumbai. I am writing from my hotel which is located a few blocks away from The Taj Hotel. Early this morning I was able to see two fires break out at the hotel. Throughout the night and still this morning you can often hear bursts of gun fire.
An elderly couple who were out for dinner last night were trapped in a restaurant just behind the hotel. They just arrived here this morning. The streets are eerily empty for a city with a population of 18 million.

what kind of religion would allow such brutal killings............none
someone has to get the root of this killing drama. And respective religious leaders should look into it and try and to this violence.
I am waiting for the day when Muslims will form a group against these killers and bring them to justice, before the name of Islam is further deteriorated.

I work for a photographer so I can appreciate what you do. At least you are safe and hopefully back in Vancouver now. When you get a chance, if you remember me, send me an email and we can catch up.

Looks like DAN is in the midst of it but far enough away to have a nice butter chicken dinner with some hot seasoning curries to keep the flames inside. Get a little closer DAN.
