Education: Graduated with a finance degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1986.
Profession: Businessman and former banker.
Career Background: Is currently CEO of King George Financial Corp., an investment firm, and is also on the board of Canaco Resources, a gold exploration company. Started his banking career at Credit Suisse in Lausanne, Switzerland. Joined the New York office of Credit Suisse in 1988, and the Vancouver office in 1990. In 1992, was promoted to head of private banking for Vancouver. In 1994, became a senior account manager at HSBC in Hong Kong, and in 1997 was appointed a senior vice-president at HSBC in Singapore.
Community Activities: Is a director of the provincial Heart and Stroke Foundation, and a member of the B.C. Premier's Asia Pacific Trade Council.

Taught courses in policy analysis and information systems at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.
Community Activities: Has served as a scout leader and as founding president of the North Vancouver Elementary Band & Strings Parents’ Association. He is a member and past president of the North Shore Unitarian Church.

Don Bell
Party: Liberal Party of Canada
Career Background: Is vice-chair of the Greater Vancouver Regional District and currently chairs the GVRD's corporate and intergovernmental committee. Has chaired the GVRD's water and air quality committees and the planning and environmental committee. Served as member of the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority (TransLink) Board, and as board member and trustee of the Municipal Finance Authority. Also served on the national board of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and on the 2010 Winter Olympics Bid Committee from 1998-1999.
Community Activities: Honourary chair of the 1994 B.C. Special Olympic Games and has been an honourary director of the B.C. Wheelchair Sports Association.
Electoral History
Municipal: Elected alderman in 1970 and mayor from 1976 to 1982. Was elected to the North Vancouver school board for three terms; was re-elected councillor from 1993 to 1996. Was re-elected mayor in 1999 and continued to serve in that position until his federal election in 2004.
Federal: Elected in North Vancouver in 2004 and 2006.

Age: 71
Education: Earned a BA in psychology from the University of Saskatchewan and a teaching certificate from the Ottawa Teachers College.
Children: Two daughters and four grandchildren.
Career Background: Worked as a taxi driver for 13 years and as bookstore clerk at Capilano College for 10 years. An expert in the area of home education, she has published several articles about the subject.
Community Activities: An active member of the educational reform movement, she has made presentations on the issue in various cities and states, including Halifax, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Seattle, Salt Lake City and St. Louis, Mississippi. A founding member of the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association. Also organized five home learning fairs in British Columbia from 1983 to 1987. Awarded the Volunteer of the Year award by the Vancouver Junior League in 1985.
