Career Background: Began his career at CIBC in the late 1960s. He was an executive assistant to both John Diefenbaker and to the Alberta minister of industry and commerce. He was secretary to cabinet in Alberta, and was also executive assistant, then executive director, to the office of the premier of Alberta. In the 1980s, he was deputy chief of staff to Brian Mulroney as Opposition Leader, and then was the director of scheduling, tour and special projects for the PMO. Currently, he is president of Lee Richardson Financial Corporation, involved in corporate finance and investment banking. He is a director and past chairman of ACD Systems International Inc., the developer of ACDSee image-viewing and management software.
Community Activities: Served on the board of directors for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics and has been a past committee chairman of the Calgary Stampede.

Community Activities: Worked as an organizer for Earth Day. Volunteers with UNICEF and Amnesty International. Spent a year in Ecuador volunteering in a developing community that struggles with poverty, deforestation and lack of health care.
