Education: BA from Western University, master of divinity, University of Toronto; MA in religious history, Queen's University. Currently a candidate for a doctorate of ministry, Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School.

Profession: Clergyman

Name of Spouse: Kathleen

Children: Four sons

Career Background: For several years, worked as a peace organizer, journalist, truck mechanic and steel fitter. In the late 1970s, George decided to enter religious life, and in 1985 was ordained as a United Church minister. He worked as a correctional chaplain for 16 years, including five years at Toronto's Don Jail. He also worked worked for the Ontario Multifaith Council and at a Young Offenders facility. Since 2002, he has been an ecumenical chaplain at Brock University, representing the Anglican, Presbyterian and United Churches.

Community Activities: Currently a member of the executive of the Niagara Coalition for Peace.
