Community Activities: He is a member of the Woodstock General Hospital Foundation, the United Way of Oxford, the Children's Aid Society of Oxford, the Women's Emergency Centre and a former president of Woodstock Rotary Club. He is the fundraising chair for Woodstock Seniors Centre and Building the Vision. He is a Bosnia-Hercegovina trainer for the National Democratic Institute in Washington, D.C.

Federal: Defeated as a Progressive Conservative candidate in Oxford in 1997 and 2000. Elected in Oxford as a Conservative candidate in 2004 and 2006.
