Community Activities: He is the past president of the Warkworth Community Service Club and the director of the Campbellford Rotary Club. Board member of the Social Housing Authority in Cobourg (Halcyon Place). Former board member of the Ontario Film Review Board, a board member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Quinte chapter, and a member of several fraternal organizations, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion.

Federal: Defeated in Northumberland in 2000 as a Canadian Alliance candidate. Elected in Northumberland - Quinte West in 2006.

Party: Since retirement, has been politically active in conservative politics as a candidate, riding volunteer and organizer, and as the President of the CPC Northumberland Quinte West EDA.
Committee: Member of the committees on Public Safety and National Security, Scrutiny of Regulations, subcommittee on the Review of the Anti-terrorism Act and Bill C-27.
