Community Activities: While working at a Canadian insurance company, he was president of the company staff association. Former member of the Stouffville Lions Club, the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce and the Metropolitan Toronto Board of Trade. Was also a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society. He founded the Directors Club of London, a business-networking group, and serves as chair of the club. Served as president of the Old South community association. Member of the London Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the board of directors, on the executive, and as president of the board. Has won chamber awards for Volunteer of the Year and a special president's recognition award. Has worked with the United Way, serving as co-chair of the business division in 1990 and 1991, and chair of the finance division in 2005. Is co-chair of the Business Cares food drive. Was co-chair of Canada Unity London, a local group whose mandate is preserving a whole Canada. Honoured with the Governor-General's Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of Confederation. Has also served as chair of the London Convention Centre board of directors and the St. John Ambulance board of directors. Is co-chair of the Sunshine Dreams Golf Classic, a golf tournament fundraiser. Is also a member of the Rotary Club, which selected him as recipient of the Jack Burghardt Community Service Above Self award. Is first vice-president of the London Rotary Club.
