The Progressive Conservatives held the former Hamilton-Wentworth riding with MP Sean O'Sullivan from 1972-78 and Geoff Scott from 1978-93.
John Bryden won in this area, under three different riding names, for the Liberals in 1993, 1997 and 2000.
