Community Activities: He volunteered with several community groups and local schools. He co-founded the Mouvement Montréal Français, a movement committed to making French the only official language in Montreal. From 2003 to 2005, he served as president of the Festival Tumbuktu, an annual festival held in Longueuil to celebrate African and Carribean music and arts.
