In 1985, he was founded and served as president of the Canadian National Foundation for Sobriety. He served in the Quebec Chamber of Commerce in 1983, and Bois-Francs Chamber of Commerce from 1988 to 1990. He was also a member of the Association of Pilots of Bois-Francs and previously volunteered with the Victoria-Plessisville Red Cross.

Provincial: Ran unsuccessfully with the Action Démocratique de Québec in Arthabaska in 1998.
Federal: First elected with the Bloc Québécois in Lotbinière in 1993. Ran again unsuccessfully in 1997 as an Independent and in 2000 as a Progressive Conservative in Lotbinière-L'Érable (same riding renamed). After the Conservative Party of Canada was created, he ran again unsuccessfully in Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière (which merged from the former Lotbinière riding) in 2004 and Richmond-Arthabaska in 2006.
