Profession: Journalist

Career Background: He worked in radio broadcasting for the past 40 years as manager of programming and news for the CJRP and CHRC radio stations. He was the news director for the Transcontinental Media group in Quebec. He also worked in public relations, having served as press secretary for Alcan Smelters and Chemicals Limited and counsellor for the local chapter of the Associations touristiques régionales (ATR), an association dedicated to maintaining the tourist industry in Quebec regions, and several politicians, including former Premier Robert Bourassa. He also taught journalism at the Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier and the Collège de la radio et de la télévision de Québec (CRTQ), two colleges in Quebec City (the latter being a specialized radio and television school). Concerned about professional ethics, he wrote the reporting policy for the CJRP-Radiomutuel radio station, which was adopted by the whole network, as well as Transcontinental.

Community Activities: He is an active member of the Quebec Chamber of Commerce and sits on the boards of several cultural and charitable organizations.

Education: Earned a bachelor's degree in environment and forestry management from Laval University. Also studied natural sciences at the Cégep de Rimouski, a community college in Rimouski, Que.

Career Background: She worked in organizations representing public transit users and the fight against poverty. She has also been actively involved in international development. For six months, she was also a liaison in England at the headquarters of Peace Child International.

Community Activities: She held positions in the Confédération des associations d'étudiantes et d'étudiants de l'Université Laval (CADEUL), the largest student association at Laval University, and the Association des étudiantes et étudiants en foresterie de l’Université Laval (AEFUL), the association of forestry students. She also sat for three years on the board of administration of the fourth World Youth Congress — called RéGénération 2008 — held in Quebec City. Recently, she was members of the International Tembec forestry mission in Finland and the selection committee of the research foundation of Laval University's Faculty of Forestry.
