Career Background: Since 1989, she has been practising family and criminal law. She was also a lecturer in communications at the UQAM between 1995 and 2003. In 2001, she worked as a research officer for the Summit of the Americas.
Community Activities: She co-organized a student exchange program between the National Autonomous University of New Mexico and the University of Ottawa, and co-founded Édouard-Montpetit's student committee on international solidarity in 1982. In 1983, she participated in Canada World Youth, which offers international programs to youth worldwide. Also served on the boards of La Sourithèque nursery and One Kids Place, a charitable, non-profit organization. Recently, she participated in the 2006 World Social Forum in Caracas, Venezuela.
