Career Background: Upon graduating from Laval in 1973, worked as a notary for 25 years. In 1998, started serving as the head of the Commission de protection de territoire agricole du Québec, a commission for the provincial government protecting farmland for agricultural activities. He has been working as an agricultural zoning consultant since 2004.
Community Activities: Since 1986, has been serving as a board member and secretary for Les Sables Olimag Inc., a Canadian producer of non-toxic abrasives. Was a founding member of the junior chamber of Asbestos and served as vice-president for a year. Was also previously a member of the hunting and fishing associations in Broughton and Thetford Mines and a board member of Cégep de Thetford Mines. From 1975 to 1998, served as president and treasurer of the Kiwanis Club in Thetford Mines.

Currently, a member of the volunteer action committee, Meals on Wheels, and serves as president of Quebec women farmers group Cercle de fermières.
