Career Background: A former fishing boat captain and plant manager, he also held several administrative posts including director general and part-time director general of, respectively, the association of fishermen and the office of crab fishermen in Basse-Côte-Nord, a regional municipality in eastern Quebec. Additionally, he worked as a researcher for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for five years.

Community Activities: Created and served as president of several local organizations in Gros-Mécatina, including Maison Mécatina, a shelter program, and the Comité des travailleurs d’usine de La Tabatière, the committee of factory workers in La Tabatière, a small fishing village in the municipality. Currently serves as president of Tourisme Basse-Côte-Nord, established in 2003 to maintain the tourism industry on the coast.
