Provincial: Ran unsuccessfully as a Liberal in the riding of Mille-Îles in the 1981 provincial election. Elected in the riding in the 1985 and 1989 elections. Resigned in 1994 and later joined the Conservative party.

Career Background: Has taught for the Pointe-de-l’Île Board of Education for 15 years, teaching both youth and adults, as well as offering remedial instruction to students with special needs. She has designed and been a trainer for various computer software courses.

Community Activities: Served as educational commissioner for Marigot riding in Laval (CSL) for three years and sat on the executive of the CSL for two years. She also sits on a number of school board committees, including those for special events and management evaluation. Also a former delegate at the Fédération des commissions scolaires and chair of the board of directors for CPE le Hêtre for the past three years.

Party: New Democratic Party of Canada

Education: Earned two bachelors degrees in political science and juridical science from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), a graduate diploma in fiscal law from the University of Sherbrooke, and a master's degree in law, specializing in fiscal law, from the University of Montreal.

Profession: Lawyer

Career Background: He previously worked as a labourer and steelworker before pursuing a career in law. Since 1996, he has been a specialist in fiscal law.

Community Activities: Previously served as secretary and secretary-treasurer of his local of, respectively, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the Public Service Alliance of Canada. He was founding member of UQAM's co-op program and served as its secretary.
