Career Background: Worked for the Office of the Judge Advocate General, the Canadian Forces in Ottawa and the legal department at Canada Post Corporation. He also practised municipal and labour law in private offices in Montreal and Laval for 15 years. Served as executive assistant to former prime minister Brian Mulroney for over three years. Since March 2006, he has been working for the Senate as Senator Pierre Nolin’s political adviser. He also taught politics, history and administrative law, and currently teaches courses on negotiation at HEC Montréal, and governance issues, ethics and information technology systems at the University of Sherbrooke.
Community Activities: He sat on the Port of Montreal board of directors from 1998 to 2001 and the Care Canada advisory council in Montreal from 1998 to 2001. From 2004 to 2006, he chaired the board of directors for the educational institution board of the Montreal school École St-Louis and he is currently a member of the advisory committee of Fondation Paul Gérin‑Lajoie, a non-governmental, non-profit organization in Montreal.
