Career Background: He was a parliamentary assistant to the BQ MP for Matapédia-Matane between 2000 and 2004. He previously worked as a radio journalist on CHNC in Gaspésie from 1977 to 2000. He was also president of the Conseil central CSN Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine in the 1990s.

Community Activities: He was a spokesperson for the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine Unemployment Commission, a member of co-ordinating Committee, Ralliement gaspésien et madelinot, a member of the board of directors, Conseil régional de concertation et de développement de Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

Municipal: Mayor of Escuminac, Que., from 1979 to 1983.

Federal: Elected as a Progressive Conservative MP in Bonaventure–Îles-de-la-Madeleine in the 1984 and 1988 general elections. Defeated in the riding in the 1993 election. Ran unsuccessfully in Matapédia–Matane in the 1997 general election.

Career Background: For the past five years, has been working at Télé-Québec. He previously worked as a cameraman and editor for public affairs programs.

Community Activities: With an avid interest in acting, he is a member of the Ligue d'improvisation de la Baie-des-Chaleurs, an improvisation group, and the theater group Le Clan Destin. He was also involved in the establishment of Kino 132, the Gaspésie chapter of Kino, an international movement dedicated to providing filmmakers with a place to screen their short films. Also teaches snowboarding and provides training videos to schools.

Career Background: A researcher with more than 25 years of experience in the area of life sciences. He worked as an associate professor at the University of Montreal and the Institut national de la recherche scientifique, a scientific research institute at the University of Quebec in Montreal. He also founded AVIRAN Biotechnologies, which specializes in research in biotechnology. He has worked in France and Quebec over the years, working with several businesses and conducting research on Alzheimer's disease, genetics, and bacterial and microbial biodiversity.

Profession: Pilot

Career Background: In addition to being a professional pilot, is also a fisheries expert in fishing techniques and products processing, and has experience in the field of business administration. Has been director of the Société de gestion d'immeubles et de copropriétés (SOGECO), a property and condominium management corporation founded in Gatineau. Was also the manager of several businesses, a college instructor and member of professional associations. He additionally worked abroad for international organizations such as the World Bank and the Canadian International Development Agency.

Community Activities: Is a founding member of Action des patriotes gaspésiens, a local political movement.

Federal: Ran unsuccessfully as a Conservative in this riding in 2006.
