Windsor's jobless rate has fallen to 8.9 per cent.
The August number was down from 9.2 per cent in July.
Despite the improvement, the city still has the third-highest jobless rate in Canada, behind only Saint John and Trois Rivieres, Quebec.
Nationally, the unemployment rate slipped from 7.2 to 7.1 per cent.
Canada added 59,000 jobs in the month.
