Windsor Police are investigating a weekend arson in the city's west end.

Fire erupted at a home on Cameron Avenue on Saturday around 10 p.m.

Investigators said someone broke into the house and left fire-starting materials behind.

Detective Glen Gervais estimates it caused up to $50,000 in damages.

"There was nobody home at the time. There was nobody hurt," said Gervais.  "The fire was contained to the inside of the home."

Gervais said neighbours were quick to notify emergency crews.

Police don't have any suspects at this point, but hope witnesses will step forward with information.
