What's open and closed in Windsor Labour Day weekend

Here's a look at what's open, closed and what's operating on a holiday schedule.

It's Labour Day weekend and that means some businesses and services are closed or have changed their hours.

Here's a look at what's open, closed and what's operating on a holiday schedule: 

Windsor Public Libraries

All Windsor Public Library locations will be closed this weekend. Under the summer library hours, it also means all branches will be closed on Sundays. 

311 Call Centre

The 311 Call Centre will be closed Monday. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

211 Windsor-Essex

The 211 Call Centre will be open 24 hours on Monday for people throughout Windsor and Essex County.

Garbage and  Recycling

There will be no residential collection services on Monday.  Residential garbage and recycling collection services will be delayed by one day. Night commercial, front-end loader and weekly recycling collections will not be delayed. People can check the 2014-2015 Waste Collection Calendar. 

Public Drop-off and Household Chemical Waste Depots

The depots located at the northeast corner of Central Ave. and E.C. Row will be closed Monday.

Regular hours are Mon.-Sat., from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.  

Parks and Recreation

All community centres and all customer care centres will be closed with the exception of scheduled rentals Monday.

Outdoor pools will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Sandpoint Beach will be open and supervised 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

All arenas will be closed.

University of Windsor 

University offices, will be closed. Libraries, and some food services will operate on a holiday schedule 

Adventure Bay Family Water Park

Adventure Bay Family Water Park is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday. 

Parking Enforcement

There will be no parking enforcement Monday and municipal ticket payment offices will be closed.

Windsor's Community Museum

Windsor's Community Museum is normally closed on Mondays and will remain closed.

Transit Windsor

City buses will operate on a regular Sunday/holiday schedule Monday.

The tunnel bus will operate on a weekday schedule.

The customer service office at 300 Chatham St. W. is open regular hours Mon. from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m

The sales office at 3700 North Service Rd. E. will be closed.

Canada Post

Post offices will be closed and there will be no regular collection or delivery of mail. Post offices operated by the private sector will be open according to the hours of service of the host business.

The Beer Store

All Beer Store locations will be closed on Monday. 


All LCBO locations will be closed Monday.

Devonshire Mall

The Devonshire Mall will be open 11 a.m. to  6 p.m.
