Residents of Windsor's Ward 7 had a chance to meet candidates running in next month's civic byelection.
But the candidates and their supporters outnumbered the general public on the weekend.
Ten of the 11 candidates participated, including Robin Fortier, were at the meeting.
She's getting involved in politics for the first time.
"I am one of the only women, and I also live in the ward, so I know the things that are going on in the ward, and women in politics, it's very underrepresented," she said.
Clint Weir is another one of the hopeful candidates.
"The reason I'm running is because I believe there's a crisis of confidence in the leadership at all levels now, plus institutional failure," he said. "So I feel I'm putting my name forward to hopefully address certain things that will benefit Ward 7, like lowering water rates and residential taxes."
The event was hosted by the Windsor Workers Action Centre, Unemployed Help Centre and the district labour council.
The byelection will be held Dec. 9.
