About 80 artists and 40 Windsor businesses opened their doors this weekend as part of the 11th Annual Walkerville Art Walk in east Windsor.

The event featured food, music and art.

Joan Charette is with the Walkerville Business Improvement Association and organized the event.

"It's a great opportunity for local artists to display their work and sell their wares," she said. "It's a great partnership every year."

This was the first year Wyandotte Street east has been closed for the festival.

"You always get nervous before you plan, and think to yourself. 'I hope, I hope," Charette said. "But standing on the street and looking up and down and seeing nothing but happy faces and talking to the artists and the businesses afterwards and finding out how well they did, it's great. it's a wonderful thing."
