U.S. sex offender posing as NFL scout caught in Ontario
Police were looking for Britton D. Mckenzie, who cut his GPS monitoring bracelet off and fled Wisconsin
A wanted sex offender from the U.S. said to be posing as an NFL scout is reported to have been caught in the Sudbury area.
The Sun Prairie Police Department in Sun Prairie, Wisc., said on April 1 that sex offender Britton D. Mckenzie, 66, cut off his GPS monitoring bracelet and went missing.
On Wednesday, Chatham-Kent police said he was spotted in Chatham posing as a former NFL player and scout for the Green Bay Packers while getting an oil change.
One of the employees became suspicious of the man and researched him at home. The employee learned the man was Mckenzie, a wanted sex offender from Wisconsin.
According to Sun Prairie police, Mckenzie has been known to frequent coffee shops and libraries and has history of exposing himself to young adult females.
Media reports Thursday indicated that Mckenzie was caught in Sudbury after several police warnings were issued.
