A Windsor man was released from jail on Sunday morning and attacked on his walk home.
Windsor police Staff Sgt. Dave Kigar said the incident happened at 9:45 a.m., when the 21-year-old victim was walking home from the county jail.
Just a few blocks from the jail, the victim was accosted on Brock Street by two suspects, including one that was armed with a baseball bat.
The victim suffered a possible leg fracture in the attack and is now in hospital.
Kigar said police have canvassed the neighbourhood, but have yet to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack.
The victim said he does not know who attacked him.
Hours later there was a second baseball bat attack.
Windsor police say a 26-year-old man was visiting a friend in the 600 block of South Pacific. When he left he began arguing with a man in the lower half of the home. The 26-year-old victim was eventually hit several times with a baseball bat. The suspect then fled the scene.
A 27-year-old man turned himself in to Windsor police on Monday afternoon. He's been charged with two counts of assault and uttering threats, in relation to the incident on South Pacific.
Police say they have no leads on the west side baseball bat attack.
