Threatening message left on Downtown Mission voicemail
Windsor's Downtown Mission says it has had to warn some of its users after a threat was left on the centre’s voicemail.
Ron Dunn, mission director, said a man called Monday and threatened to put panhandlers "in the hospital" if they did not leave the downtown core.
Dunn said the mission has since notified those who may be the target of the threat.
"They were concerned, but understood as well that it's an isolated incident and that, it's at this point, one individual who I'm sure, I pray, doesn't represent the masses," Dunn said.
Windsor police are now investigating who left the message.
