Suspect surrenders after lengthy Lauzon Road standoff
A lengthy standoff at a Lauzon Road apartment building ended without incident on Sunday afternoon.
Windsor police were called to the building at 5 a.m.
At the scene, they found a person who had been stabbed and who was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
But police spent nearly 12 hours at the building as they negotiated with a male suspect, who surrendered at about 4 p.m.
Sgt. Pamela Mizuno, who was at the scene for the whole day, said these situations take time to resolve.
Mizuno said several police units had been involved in the standoff.
The standoff left area closed for much of Sunday.
