A surcharge will be added to the price of tickets sold for events at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Windsor.

John Miceli, the executive director for the city's facilities, said tickets costing $15 or less will be subject to a $1 charge, while tickets to pricier shows would have $2 added to them.

"We've got a tremendous asset there in the Capitol Theatre, and we just want to make sure the community continues to receive a tremendous asset, so this ticket surcharge is going to be dedicated to repairs at the Capitol Theatre."

Tickets for performances that are part of school field trips will not be affected.
