The NDP is preparing for a by-election in Windsor-Tecumseh.
The president of the Windsor-Tecumseh NDP Riding Association says that's precisely why a new billboard depicting party leader Andrea Howarth was erected on Tecumseh Road East near Rivard.
"Calling a by-election is going to be up to the current government. That being said, we do have a time limit on when a by-election can be called in Windsor-Tecumseh and we are preparing for that," Patrick Hannon said.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne had six months from the day Finance Minister and Windsor-Tecumseh Liberal MPP Dwight Duncan stepped down in February.
"This billboard is here to remind people of who has your back," Hannon said.
When Premier Kathleen Wynne visited Windsor on Monday, she said there's no date she has in mind for the by-election.
"We're going to win it," she promised during her stop in Windsor.
Neither the Liberals nor NDP have named a candidate. Both parties say they have plenty of interest from prospective candidates.
Robert deVerteuil is the Progressive Conservative candidate in the riding.
