Chatham-Kent police probe fatal crash near Wheatley

A man is dead after his pickup truck crashed overnight in a ditch north of Wheatley, Ont.
Chatham-Kent police said the crash occurred at the intersection of Wheatley Road and Essex Road 8. Emergency crews were called to the scene at 4:22 a.m.
The Chevrolet Silverado was travelling eastbound on Essex Road 8 but failed to stop at the Wheatley Road intersection, striking a ditch, police said.
The driver, a 47-year-old man from Leamington, Ont., was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
The collision remains under investigation.
