Investigator's with the Ontario Fire Marshall's office haven't found a clear cause for Monday night's fire in Tecumseh.
The blaze, which has been deemed suspicious, gutted the Tecumseh Roadhouse on County Road 42 around 8 p.m. Monday night.
Inspectors have completed the on-site portion of the investigation, but there is no obvious point of origin at this time, according to Tecumseh Fire and Rescue Chief Doug Pitre.
"Samples were taken which is just standard," he said. "At this point the owner of the building has taken possession of the property."
Fires causing over $500,000 are automatically investigated, Pitre said.
But Tecumseh's Chief Fire Prevention Officer Bob Hamilton said, some facts surrounding what happened that night didn't add-up.
"The OPP and the OMF will help us figure out what happened here," he said.
Const. Stephanie Moniz of the OPP said police will work with fire fighters to determined whether charges are warranted.
The investigation may take months to complete.
