Windsor Police were forced to "lock down" St. Joseph's high school for several hours today after accusations of a possible gun threat surfaced this morning.

Staff Sgt. Allan Adams said a student at the school reported that another student, who was suspended on Wednesday, threatened to return today with a gun.

The accusations turned out to be false, according to Adams.

"We searched the student and found no weapons," he said. "The student who made the complaint later admitted to lying about the incident. The student who was accused never made the threat."

The school has since reopened and no charges have been laid. Adams said school administrators will be handling the situation internally.
