Hundreds came out Tuesday to say goodbye to a Sarnia kindergarten teacher who will be remembered as a joyful woman who connected easily with children.

Noelle Paquette, 27, was last seen alive on New Year's Eve, after leaving a party in downtown Sarnia.

The OPP confirmed last Thursday the body police found on Mandaumin Road, southeast of Sarnia, was Paquette.

Kyle Braatz, who went to university with Paquette, said the funeral service captured his long-time friend beautifully.

"Noelle was the kind of woman who just, I think you heard it a million times, but she's a woman who brought so much joy to every single person she touched, from friends to family to strangers and all the way down to her students, who she cared about so much," Braatz said.

Paquette was a kindergarten teacher at St. Matthew Catholic School in Sarnia.

Carole Abraham said she didn’t know Paquette but she felt it was important to attend the service to offer her support.

Abraham’s brother was murdered in Sarnia more than 20 years ago. She said she had an important message for Paquette’s family.

“I came to try and convey to her sisters and brother that one day you'll be able to laugh and dance like no one is watching like Noelle said," Abraham said.

Paquette is also being remembered as an angel online.

More than 10,000 people joined a Facebook group paying tribute to her as of late Tuesday night.

Tanya Bogdanovich, 31, and Michael McGregor, 19, both of Sarnia, were arrested last week in London.

Both been charged with first-degree murder.
