A Windsor variety store clerk was apparently shot with a stun gun during a holdup Thursday night in Windsor, Ont.
Windsor police say the robbery happened just before 11 p.m. at Alfin Convenience, at the intersection of Erie and Church streets.
Windsor police spokesperson Sgt. Matthew D'asti said the incident happened minutes after the clerk had closed the store.
D'asti said two suspects asked the victim to re-open the store in order to purchase cigarettes. When the clerk refused, they attacked him.
"One of the suspects used what is described as a Taser-like weapon on the victim. He also punched the victim several times in the head area," D'asti said. "The victim fell to the ground and the suspects removed an amount of cash from his pocket. It's a small amount of cash."
The incident was all caught on a security camera. In it, there appears to be two flashes of light from what D'asti described as the "Taser-like weapon." The clerk runs and is then attacked.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries including cuts and abrasions to his face.
No arrests have been made.
Stun guns are a prohibited weapon in Canada.
