The winter storm that blew through Windsor on Boxing Day could cost the city $500,000.

City treasurer Onorio Colucci said the final price tag for clearing city of the 15 cm of snow will be somewhere between $300,000 and $500,000.

"We certainly don't like snowfalls from a budgetary point of view," Colucci said. "We don't like to see too many of these.

Hopefully, during the rest of the winter we will get some luck."

Colucci said the final tab will affect the 2012 budget and not the 2013 ledger.

"This is based on the fact that it happened before the end of the year, that it would impact the 2012 books," he assured. "We'd have to see how this stacks up when you consider the January-April period earlier in 2012."

The last of Windsor's snow should be plowed out from side streets around noon Friday. Crews have been working since noon on Boxing Day.

Crews have been working at snow removal for 36 consecutive hours.

Meanwhile, the big snowstorm that continues to move east is to blame for cancelling Friday's family event at the WFCU Centre.

All performances of Disney's Phineas and Ferb: The Best Live Tour Ever are off.

The cast, crew and production equipment all got stranded in Montreal because of the storm, and won't be able to make it to Windsor in time.

Ticket holders for all three performances can get a full refund.
