Windsor's tenth and final ward meeting came to a close Thursday night.
Close to 80 people came out to voice concerns ranging from roads, sewers and derelict buildings to Coun. Alan Halberstadt's relationship with his municipal colleagues.
Some residents took the opportunity to suggest that Halberstadt tone down his behaviour in council meetings so Ward 4 is not negatively affected.
Fear of lost support for area projects topped the list of concerns raised in regard to the city councillor's approach.
Halberstadt said he's aware that, at times, he annoys fellow council members, including the mayor, but has already begun toning things down.
"I've done that to a certain degree already, but if there's an issue that comes up and I feel strongly about it, sometimes you can't sugar-coat it," said Halberstadt, who recently stopped writing a blog that aggravated fellow city officials.
But it wasn't all negative feedback Thursday night. Ward 4 resident Adriano Ciotoli said the forums are a useful tool for the city.
"I wouldn't say I really came here with any issue in mind, but just certain small little things that came up in mind that I went and sought input for, to see what could be done to improve it. One would just be traffic calming measures on residential streets," he said. "You get a chance to also meet some of the people that you see on TV that you don't get a chance to talk to, obviously, through the council meetings. You get a chance to talk to your councillor as well. ... I think they're awesome. I think it's a great idea. I'm glad to see the turnout here. This is a great venue for people to voice their concerns and try to get some action on them.
Halberstadt said he and city staff will follow up on the concerns and hasn't decided if he will run for council again.
