Two Windsor fishermen have been fined more than $3,000 after an illegal walleye catch.

In court, the two men each pleaded guilty to catching 31 more fish than allowed and for having skinned the fish so they couldn't be identified.

Conservation officers caught the men leaving a lake in Peterborough County in June.

The wardens found a cooler in the men's vehicle with the extra fish stuffed in it.

Each man now has to pay $1,550.

Both are banned from angling in Ontario for the next two years.
