Windsor's professional basketball team will have its home court at the WFCU Centre, if city council approves the staff recommendation.
The Windsor Express is asking the city to purchase $125,000 basketball flooring and a storage unit in order for the team to host its games at the city's premier venue.
The money will have to come from the reserve account if council approves the request.
In the staff recommendation, the team would pay $4,530 per game, which will cover court renting, staffing, dressing rooms and a sports medic at the WFCU Centre.
The team, which announced its head coach on Thursday, will have access to 20 home game dates and the term of the agreement would run from Oct. 2012 until Sept. 30, 2013.
The city would also receive up to 150 complimentary tickets per game at $1 each, or five per cent of ticket sales.
A minimum of $5 million in liability insurance must also be purchased on the team's tab.
Windsor City Council will make its decision Aug. 27.
