A Windsor family with eight children remains homeless after the city forced them out of their rental home.
As CBC News told you first on Aug. 1, city building inspectors and health unit officials placed a "do not occupy" order on their Cross Street home.
The landlord had not been maintaining the property. One of the biggest problems was sewage leaking from the second-floor bathroom into the kitchen.
Initially the city paid for the family's motel accommodations, but now Ontario Works will pick up the bill for for two weeks.
The family has been living in three different motels in the past two weeks.
Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society is providing them with clothing vouchers, toys and school supplies, according to the father, Cory Kelly.
Kelly is looking for someone with a large property for rent for the family.
Kelly said social housing is also involved as the family sits on a waitlist.
The children were living with relatives when the house became unsanitary and unsafe.
