Kingsville council has approved a master transportation plan for the town.
It identifies $25 million worth of future road improvement projects.
Mayor Nelson Santos said, in all, about 25 projects have been identified.
"This list allows us to plan as part of our development charges review. It allows us to incorporate some of those costs into development charges so that the current taxpayer doesn't have to foot the entire bill at the end of the day," Santos said.
Santos said in conjunction with the plan, council has approved an active transportation plan. The document identifies $13-millions worth of future projects, such as dedicated bike lanes, walkways and sidewalks. It's all designed to encourage people to get more active.
New contract
Meanwhile, Kingsville town council has also ratified a new contract with municipal employees. It's a five-year agreement.
Santos said the workers will receive a wage increase of two per cent in each of the first three years, and a three-per-cent raise in the last two years of the deal.
Santos said it's the first contract of this length for the town.
"It just provides more stability and an opportunity for the municipality to be able to plan and budget in terms of salaries and certainly the cost of employees in our municipality," he said.
The previous contract expired at the end of last year.
