The 54th annual fireworks display on the Detroit River is set to go Monday night.
Windsor Police will start closing downtown streets at 6 p.m.
Transit Windsor buses will be free all evening and people are encouraged to take them to minimize traffic problems.
Another option is to ride your bike.
Kari Gignac, who chairs the city's bicycling committee, said her group will keep an eye on the bikes while the fireworks are on.
"We want to encourage people to ride their bikes downtown and come to Charles Clark Square where we'll have a little bike valet parking set up for you. So bring a lock," Gignac said.
Maggie Durocher is with the Windsor Parade Corporation, which is holding Summerfest events up until Canada Day. She says everything is set for fireworks night.
"Our Summerfest riverfront fireworks party is sold out, so we're looking forward to entertaining 300 guests on the riverfront," she said. "If you come down early, we'll have buskers on the midway from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m."
The fireworks are set to begin at 10:06 p.m. Monday.
