Windsor's bluesfest is going to be the backdrop of a new reality show.
The show stars up-and-coming blues singer Randy Scott as he tours America.
The show's TV network has 90 million viewers. The network chose Windsor's Bluesfest International out of hundreds of other festivals at which to film.
Windsor will be the backdrop for two episodes.
"I think it's luck and timing more than anything," said Ted Boomer, producer of Bluesfest International.
Boomer figures the reality show's producer didn't know at the time of the decision that the star was born in Detroit.
Other Windsor attractions and events, such as the automotive industry's history and the Underground Railroad, piqued the interest of the TV show.
"They really got their tail wagging when we taked about the tug across the [Detroit] River," Boomer said. "They never heard of anything so crazy."
Bluesfest International runs July 13-15.
