1 man dead after pickup collides with semi

Firefighters work at the scene of a fatal accident in Lakeshore on Thursday. (CBC News)A man is dead after a pickup truck and tractor-trailer collided at the intersection of County Road 42 and Renaud Line in Lakeshore.
The OPP said it happened just before 9 a.m., the pickup ran a stop sign and crossed into the path of a tractor trailer.
"Initial investigation determined that the pickup was southbound on Renaud Line, and the tractor-trailer was eastbound on County Road 42," said Sgt. Rick Tonial. "The pick-up truck failed to negotiate a stop sign and crossed the path of the tractor-trailer resulting in the crash. "
The pickup driver was thrown from his truck and died on the scene.
The driver of the transport was taken to hospital with head cuts.
Police closed County Road 42 between Puce Road and Rourke Line while they investigated.
Hydro wires were strewn across the scene and diesel was leaking from the tractor-trailer's fuel tank.
