Ohio State University student falls from hotel balcony

A student from Ohio State University suffered a head injury after falling from the second floor of a downtown hotel while visiting Windsor, Ont.

Police said the man in his early 20's fell in front of the Holiday Inn on Ouellette Avenue on Saturday night.

Witnesses told police the young man had been drinking and climbed over the railing.

Witnesses said the man thought he could hang over and lower himself six metres to the sidewalk below.

Two people watched as he slipped, first landing on his feet before falling backwards on to his head.

The victim was visiting the city with other students from Columbus for a fraternity event, according to police.

Police did not elaborate on the extent of his injuries.
