Windsor West NDP MP Brian Masse is passionate about two things: politics and hockey.

Now, the amateur goaltender can have them both at once: in the parliamentary hockey league in Ottawa.

On Friday, Masse unveiled a new custom goalie mask designed by artist Dan Lessard, who has goaltending clients playing for the NHL's New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators.

Masse's mask — orange, of course — features one of the NDP's founding fathers, Tommy Douglas, and the late Jack Layton, who last federal election led the party to its historic status as the Official Opposition.
