Police in Windsor, Ont., have charged a player for the country's best junior hockey team with assault.

Kassian was arrested and later charged with assault following a fight at a bar in downtown Windsor early Sunday morning.
Kassian and a 20-year-old man allegedly got into an altercation on the patio of the bar where the second man suffered a chipped tooth, but did not require medical attention.
Kassian was released from custody on a promise to appear in court at a future date.
In January, the Ontario Hockey League handed Kassian a 20-game suspension for an aggressive hit to the head on Barrie Colts forward Matt Kennedy.
It was Kassian's first game as a Spitfire after being traded from the Peterborough Petes.
In the 2009 NHL entry draft, Kassian was selected 13th overall by the Buffalo Sabres.
