St. Clair College to offer standup comedy course

The art of standup comedy is a new workshop being offered at St. Clair College through its Continuing Education Program.

Professional comedian Leo Dufour will teach the course.

Students enrolled in the course will learn the fundamentals of standup comedy, how to write and deliver a joke with confidence and conviction, stage presence, strategies for interacting with audience members, and how to handle a heckler.

The course will include an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience. It begins Feb. 14.

Other new course offerings in the Continuing Education Program include social media, blogging and more.
